EmiratesMac a day keeps problems away

Started as a simple blog of Magnus Nystedt in October 2005 with the idea of bringing the Apple community of the Middle east under one roof, EmiratesMac was founded. With increasing demand and popularity of Apple in the region, it was then moved to a much bigger platform in March 2006 and till today stands strong as the only registered Apple User Group in the United Arab Emirates.

Waking up and connecting the quiet Apple community was not the only motive of this website. The idea was to educate, help and support the existing, new and the potential mac switchers. A platform grown so much since then that it has crossed the 3000 members mark and is rapidly increasing on a daily basis. Wishing Magnus and all the members of emiratesmac the very best, and to keep helping the growing Apple community in the middle east.

Apple products are found at most of the places now. Shops like iStyle, Computer Direct Access, proTECH, Evo are just a few of the many retailers that supply the growing middle east market with Apple products. One of the main concerns, to a new Apple user is the support they would be getting. In a time where support from retailers is a miracle and the degree of level to which they may help is so very little, EmiratesMac is a place where people go in with hope to find help and come out with problems solved and educated on more things that they never knew existed about a product.

Apart from a helpful forum, they have also an EMUG (EmiratesMac User Group) Membership. Offering tutorials, monthly meeting and a showcase of products new to the region. They also invite companies who deal with Apple or Apple products to come and introduce their products or to educate the members on new upcoming trends. For a minimum fee, this is all you need to save yourself from the vicious web of retail customer service, and to learn in return so you may help others.

EmiratesMac also focuses on Shuffle, a popular Apple newsletter in the middle east. ” Shuffle is a unique publication in the Middle East, focusing on Macs, other Apple products, and anything else that is of interest to EmiratesMac User Group (EMUG) members and the wider audience in the region. It is written and produced by members of EMUG and other Apple User Groups in the Middle East and is published monthly. ”

Overall, i would consider emiratesmac to support and sustain the growing Apple community in the middle east. And to aspire those who want to switch and upgrade to a Mac. On this note, and rather a very coincidencial point in this group 3000 user mark, a chillout meet is in talks. No work just meet members of the group, talk, discuss, drink, eat and have good laughs. Following are the details, and if you decide to show up drop me a comment or post on the EmiratesMac discussion.
